How does our ranking work?
First you need to know which data we use to set up the ranking. There are three parts of data. First there is the potential Champion scaling and damage output with runes and items. In the second place we look at the pick and win rate, this is a value which depends on popularity and skill. In the last place we are looking on the needed skill for a Champion.
Okay lets start from the back. This Tier List is to be meant to help you climbing the Elo ladder. We are just looking on the Champion himself and not on the possibile power in a nice team composition. So for example a Tier 2 Jungler and Midlaner, like Yasuo midlane and Wukong in the jungle, can be potentially stronger then the God Tier composition of Malzahar and Xin Zhao. In a 1v1 matchup the God Tier Champions will beat the lower Tier Champions and that is what we exactly take for our ranking.
The next point is the needed skill for a Champion. If you take Zoe for example, you might ask why she isn`t God Tier?! you are right she got the potential to oneshot her oponents, but there are so many points against her in the low Elo. The first point is her needed skill. To oneshot a champion you need to hit a skillshot in combination of maybe your ultimate an another skill. With a Champion like Malzahar you just need to point and klick two abilities and your opponent is dead.
This is one of the biggest issues of our Tier List. We need to take in mind the potential skill of a player. And to be honest, this is nearly impossible.
Because of that, we are ranking champions with the same synergie of runes or items, but with a lower need of skill higher.
To finish this explanation, the pick and win rate of a champion is very important to. This value gives an average information on the needed skill for a Champion . If the win rate is over 50%, it means that most players are able to perform well with this Champion and the needed skill isn`t that high.
